Well I'm tired of consistently failing public school with a public and administration that is pessimistic about any change, innovation, or problem-solving. Although I am not familiar with the Edison program you mention, its failure does not speak for all charter programs, as you know. One failure, if it was one, should not foreclose charter schools as a whole. And you are correct, charter schools are not a magical fix, but they are one tool in the toolbox that our failing public school system should utilize. As you can guess, Clark and Washoe are the biggest contributors to the State General fund, but receive less than what they give for their respective school districts. Also, the small counties actually pay their teachers more as an incentive to work in their godforsaken counties. The smaller counties also have a small student to teacher ratio (like 18:1) whereas Clark county has a much higher ratio (like 33:1). So the smaller counties essentially pay less taxes to the general fund, get more money, pay their teacher more to teach less amount of students. If that is not fucked then tell me what is. Now while I am a (moderate) liberal and understand the need for redistribution of funds, this is just asinine to me. It is very clear our bigger counties is where the future of our state is and by fucking it over to save the smaller counties (that mostly make their money on brothels and some mining) is just not a viable way of funding our schools. we need to address that first and foremost before addressing the other issues. otherwise we will have have shitty resultsAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7637960526696603209.post-59943663204498567812016-11-21T14:49:47.416-08:002016-11-21T14:49:47.416-08:00For some Thanksgiving week inanity (or insanity de...For some Thanksgiving week inanity (or insanity depending on your perspective), look at NSC Case 68880 against Geraldine Kirk-Hughes.
