  1. The killing of geese at Spanish Trails is abuse. Killing a mother with goslings? Wth?

    2. Geese are not endangered; in fact, there are too many of them. They spread disease and are aggressive to humans. They ruin buildings and landscaping. Their numbers should be reduced, but in a more humane manner.

      Delete
    3. Not this way. Should not be killed. Especially with babies. Especially allowing dogs to eat them. Animal abuse, but excuse away.

    4. Its legal to kill babies in Nevada, why not geese.

    5. 12:15's comment also applies to lawyers.

    6. 12:15, ditto for judges in this state

    7. Were they Canadian Geese? 'cause if so, screw those vicious honkers. If they were Brant geese, I have much more sympathy for the geese.

  4. Does anyone else think that the entire process of calendar calls could be automated? There has to be some program that all parties could enter their availability into that could set each stack automatically. The alternative, sitting for hours while parties hem and haw about their schedules is ridiculous.

    1. Absolutely. There is a online program called https://lettucemeet.com/how-it-works that is an idea in the right direction. It's not perfect, but an easy way to see everyone's availability. Are you running for BOG? I'd vote for you.

    2. How about you meet and discuss your schedules before you come to court? Announce your trial readiness date and boom, you're out the door. For those lawyers that you're behind who are hemming and hawing ... shame them. Or better yet, tell the Court you're ready, we've agreed on a date, and request priority to put their date on the record, so those who aren't can languish. There are solutions and they start with the attorneys who are ready for trial.

  5. Can someone please tell which is the best police department is to file an in person report? The last time I went to NW command to file a police report I was treated with brute force trauma for even filing a legitimate police report.

    1. Wow. Things have changed, I guess. I filed a report there about 10 years ago (I had a handgun stolen) and had no issues. Staff at HQ on MLK seem to be relatively friendly to the public. This is from clients that perform visitation exchanges there.

    2. Legitimate reports are being rejected from online. Not sure why?

    3. My daughter were harassed and assaulted in a park, and the NW command refused to take the report. I as a lawyer was told that I do not know how to read a police report written by an officer with less education than me. I am a female. Vote Joe Lombardo.

    5. 2:55, huh?

      Delete
    6. @2:55 why would you tell us a story about metro's failures and then tell us to vote for the head of metro? That makes no sense.

      Delete
    7. I presumed that to be sarcasm.

      Delete
    8. It's is sarcasm. Hence, I wrote excuse typos. Pulled nail and tooth to file a report. Metro told me I did not know how to read a report when I expressed concerns about it. Yes, sarcasm when I said vote Lombardo

    9. 2:55PM--Daughter harassed and assaulted (as per a battery-touching do you mean or threatened?) How old is daughter and is perpetrator known or id? Metro is a big city police department and service varies. Any more information would be helpful. What happened after report?

    10. Report taken after told they will not take it. No crimes committed, lies. Yes, both of us assaulted. Questioned wording of report, told I do not know how to read a report by a non lawyer. I received a postcard from Joe Lombardo telling me they are not doing anything. Fuck him

    11. 10:10--Assaulted in what way--threats and intimidation. Words only no touching or threats of force? Just trying to figure out how you can be helped here.

      Delete
    12. Assaulted with objects. Have no idea why we were treated this way. I have said enough. City park cop was more helpful than metro. This is how woman are treated in this town.

    13. Why didn't City Marshall take report. There seems to be a disconnect here. I can't figure it out. Was the perp a stanger?

    14. Both yeses

    15. Filing a report problems. Is this person really an attorney or a troll. If you are hostile to METRO they are not user friendly. You can not tell METRO how to do their job.

      Delete
    16. Filing a report online, I am an attorney. How can you be Metro hostile for filing a police report online? You sound dumb enough to be a cop.

    1. Gonzalez does not practice in Justice Court. He is out. Hibbetts has never practiced civil in her life; she is out. Between Massey and Goodey, I would lean towards Goodey. She has a diverse practice

      Delete
    2. Goodey is a former BOG. Hello jello no.

      Delete
    3. Massey will get my vote for the reasons in the posts above.

    4. So the fact that Jessica dedicated her time for free disqualifies her from serving on the bench? What about Allf? or any of the other judges that served on the BOG?

      Delete
    5. No BOGs. Dedicated her time for free? No. No to Allf, too. Thank you for reminding us Allf is a bar wonk.

    6. Went to school with Jessica. She's good people. She also posted on here, under her own name, inviting folks to contact her. Now, do I think that she's SCOTUS material? Probably not. Better than half the judges currently on the bench? Also probably not. An acceptable outcome and the best choice of the available candidates? Yes.

    7. I worked with Augusta Massey, and she's a dear friend. She is an outstanding person, under any standard. Her work ethic is incredible. She is down to earth. Her experience in the field of candidates seems unmatched. She has my vote hands down.

      Delete
    8. so 10:21 are you suggesting that Jessica was paid to serve on the BOG? Let me guess, you had some type of discipline from the bar and you blame the BOG?

    9. 212, are you a lawyer?

    10. Was at a lawyer networking event and got to meet Jessica Goodey, candidate for JP 6. I will be voting for her in Justice Court 6. She has the temperament to be a good Justice of the Peace. She has served as an Alternate Municipal Court Judge in City Court so has plenty of background in criminal law although she is a civl practitioner. We need JP's who are not just cookie cutter former DAs and PDs. There are plenty of matters in Justice Court.
