  1. What does everyone think of The Nevada Independent? Will it be influential? Will it be financially sustainable? Will it last?

    1. Bright ideas. Bright thinkers. Never sustainable.

    2. It caters to policy wonks who want deep-dives into the state legislature. No sports, no business news, no lifestyle page. I get owning your segment but that's not a big slice of Nevadans to draw from. Oh, and Ralston has pissed off most GOP readers due to his reliably liberal slant, so his slice is even smaller.

  2. Ralston lost a lot of credibility with me based upon his reporting of the state democratic primary and his never ending insistence of violence that did not actually take place (I was there, he was not). But I'm willing to give his news site a chance. It certainly can't be worse than the RJ.

    1. Oh yes it can. He said Miller was a "shoe in" for A.G.." He has been right only about 50 percent of the time. He relies on "insider polls" and other supposed confidential stuff. Better to have him on your side but better to not have him at all.

    2. I was at the state dem primary too. There was no violence. I think it just made a good story so he could get some air time. I'm not expecting anything great out of him.

  3. You people need to get your head out of your asses and watch the White House Press conference. Here is my middle finger to you Trump supporters. Your rights are getting taken away with the stroke of a black felt pen. You or your daughter gets raped, you will have to get an illegal abortion, or go to Canada. Why did the women need to march again????

    5. 3:16, I guess I am a loon because I am pro-choice. You need your head examined for being a Trump supporter.

    6. Anti-Trump'ers, the election is over, but you will continue to vote over the next 4 years with every $1 you spend, so spend wisely! Give wisely! Assuming we are not already under Russian rule by then, or decimated by nuclear war with any number of foreign nations that Trump gets into a "twitter" over, let's take back our country in 4 years!

    1. Awesome. I hate Trump but where did you get that he is an Anti-Semite? Trump has absolutely pandered to Israel. You do know that anti-Semite means anti-Jewish, right? Or are you so stupid that you conflate it to mean prejudiced in general? Landed those bike jumps on your head apparently.

      Delete
    2. Listen to his speeches in the last three days, 2:56. You are the idiot. Nice feigning the hatred for Trump.

      Delete
    3. I will bite. I have read and listened to numerous remarks. Cite me to one that anti-Semitic. Loony? Sure. Shitting on the Intelligence community? Sure. But I would love to see what you felt showed Anti-Jewish inclinations?

    4. You can find Trump anti-Semitism in his speeches. You only need a reading comprehension of a second grader. Not my job to find it for you.

      Delete
    5. Of course, because you made it up. C'mon tough guy. You said "Listen to his speeches in the last three days", and we would fine anti-Semitism. Go ahead, show the other children that you know what that word means and know it when you see it.

    7. Trump is prejudicial against everyone and everything except white males. Look at his cabinet.

      Delete
    8. Yeah, I'm with 3:54 on this one. Trump is an idiot, but I haven't read or heard anything from him in the past three days that can be construed as anti-Semitic unless you're really trying to twist what he says. And the person who says "not my job to find it for you" just knows he/she has nothing to back up his statement.

      Delete
    9. 4:50-- so your proof that Trump is an anti-Semite is to say "Get your head out of your ass." That is the support for your argument? Look if you want to say Steve Bannon said anti-Semitic things previously, I agree. But where is your evidence that Trump has said something anti-Semitic? You don't have any and have been caught being an idiot. Prove us wrong or else you prove Trump right that people just make up facts.

      Delete
    10. 5:06, you are the idiot. Your own head in your ass statements just proved it.

    11. The only people who keep repeating themselves on here are Trump supporters. Stop watching Fox News and you will find the Nazi Germany comments, so STFU already.

      Delete
    12. 5:07/5:11/5:13-- the claim was that his Inauguration Speech was anti-Semitic. Here is the transcript. Find any statement which you believe to be anti-Semitic (or even reference to a topic which you consider anti-Semitic). http://www.cbsnews.com/news/transcript-of-trump-inauguration-speech-full-text/

While his comparison of the Intelligence community to using Gestapo-like tactics in a Tweet was ridiculous and outlandish, there was nothing in the comment that had anything to do with Jewish people ("Intelligence agencies should never have allowed this fake news to 'leak' into the public. One last shot at me. Are we living in Nazi Germany?" he tweeted."). Not a speech. Not a reference to Semitic people.

So again, where is the speech in the last 3 days where Trump revealed his anti-Semitic feelings?

      Delete
    13. 5:22, thank you for recognizing that you keep posting over and over again. Speech is a speech, bud. You just keep proving my point over and over again. Not my fault you have low reading comprehension. Get a life.

    14. 5:28-- You ate quite a few paint chips as a kid, didn't you? You have no arguments or evidence. The better argument is that Trump is a racist against Muslim people in pandering to Israel. But anti-Semitism allegations are ridiculous.

    15. Have to agree that Trump is a detestable human being who has no basis being President but there is no evidence that he harbors any animus towards Jews. 5:02 has it right. There is no evidence to the contrary.

    16. 2:26 et al, I too detest Trump for many reasons and am sick that there were enough people who are stupid and/or abhorrent enough to vote for him, but really, you're not helping the cause here. I wouldn't be shocked if he made anti-semitic remarks because garbage just endlessly spews forth from his mouth and tiny twitter fingers, but I haven't heard of any specific anti-semitic remarks he has made.

      Delete
    17. 2:26/5:28-- You are hurting the cause for those of us who detest Trump by making shitty, made-up arguments and are watering down actual anti-Semitism by crying wolf when its not around.

      Delete
    18. I actually agree that Trump is anti-semitic. To think he is not stupid or helping Trump supporters. He is diminishing what Jews went through under Hitler as the same as the press holding him accountable is anti-jewish. It diminishes the atrocities and genocide of millions the Jews faced. If that isn't anti-semitic, I don't know what is.

      Delete
    19. 9:39-- He was not referring to the Nazi practice of exterminating Jews or talking favorably about Hitler-era Germany. His speech to the intelligence officers was referring to the invasiveness and misinformation campaigns of totalitarian regimes. He was not talking about atrocities. He could have referred to Stalinist Russia (wait...he would not refer to Russia) or Castro Cuba as examples of propaganda regimes.

I am Jewish and understand the difference between promoting anti-Semitism, promoting Nazism (which could be interpreted as insensitive to Jews) and using Germany circa 1933-1945 as an example of totalitarian governments.
