Electric Daisies In Bloom

  • Anyone have any reports from the Meet Your Judges Mixer or NJA Gala last night?

  1. Judge Linda Marquis is pregnant. She is the Family Court Judge in Dept B. I could see a baby bump but other attorneys confirmed it.

  2. Regarding the meet the judges mixer, I'll paraphrase Ian Malcolm in Jurassic Park: "Ah, now eventually you do plan to have judges at your judicial mixer, right? Hello?

    1. There were bunches, they came, made one round each, and left.

  3. Judges left one (1) hour in. Low energy. Cliquee.

  4. That is what it is every year. And they never change the format.

    1. Fucking crowded. Should have ditched the tables.

  5. The scheduling was tough. There were 3 events, meet the judges, a reception for Sam Lionel and Irwin Molasky, and the NJA dinner, all in different parts of town. Is there a rule that everything must be on Thursday nights in June? Same thing week before with Inns of Court and CJA honoring Kristina Wildeveld.

  6. i personally try to refrain from going to events where a great majority of the guests are all lawyers...no matter the location there is just not enough room for all of the egos

    1. Egos aside, these meet the judges events just are not interesting if you're not one of the busybody committee-member bar-association types. I cannot think of a state court judge who inspires the kind of fawning and awe that some members of the local bar spread so generously at this event.

The Eglet holiday party is interesting independent of its relation to my work activities. I look forward to that invitation and event every year.

    2. So many douches in the NJA that I would rather go elsewhere.

    3. Go hang with the cool insurance defense guys.

    4. Some of them are better than NJA.

    5. Decolletage. So much decolletage. Thank you, women of the NJA.

    6. Hair extensions galore, boobs. A lot of you at NJA, not that attractive.

    7. And a lot that were attractive. Male and female. I was pleasantly surprised, actually.

  7. The MYJ event was MUCH more fun and better attended when it was held at the Four Seasons.

  8. Am I the only one that looks forward commuting on the I-15 tonight? If I have to be stuck in traffic, it's always better to get to look at the edc cars and people.

    1. This is why I love my 215 only commute. Very reasonable traffic.

    2. I have to drive north, very north, on I-15 very early Sunday morning. How bad is traffic on I-15 north at this time ? I have to drive to Wendover and back; how bad will I-15 southbound be about 6 p.m.?

I seem to remember that the EDC crowd; most of them, tend to leave super late Sunday night or Monday morning.

  9. Anybody had any dealings with Beverly Salhanick? Thinking of hiring her as my attorney.

    1. Depends what for, but she is good for certain areas. If it is an area she focuses on, then hire her. Every attorney has things they are good at. Robert Eglet is great at personal injury, but does not know anything about family law.

  11. I WITNESSED what you did to that biker!!! That biker has a name... that biker was my brother-in-law and I truly find it appalling that you could joke about her Ivy League education while downplaying the severity of her crime! What a big person you are to joke while hiding behind your anonymity I sure you I'm not a coward and if you want to know the truth of that day you look me up I'll tell you! I witnessed every gruesome detail... do you know what it's like to hold your loved one together on the side the road while they take their last breath? All while his brother and his wife watched!
not something to be joking about you coward....
And then plus as family member and a witness to this horrendous act ignorance I assure you that there are not enough charges in the world to make our family feel better!
All you people that have supported her and or down played the situation disgust me!!! Do you really think that she told you all of the bad decisions that she made that day, do you really think she didn't downplay the scenario? She even lied to the school kids that she lectured about the rate of speech she was traveling! I personally think that if you're truly sorry for what you've done you truly own the truth of the situation Which is not what she has done! Don't downplay the situation a good man died because of HER bad judgment! Keena Tanner

    1. I am sorry for your loss. However who on this 9-month old page joked about that tragic situation? Yes, I for one would love to know the truth of that day. So please tell us what happened so that everyone can reach some degree of healing and closure, including you in this situation.

  12. Yeah someone was joking June, 20, 2016 2:30 in original comments of Marisa Border post!
Then like I said they are a coward and doing it anonymously.... Im so disgusted by reading this crap I could vomit or punch that person in the throat! When I can compose myself I'll share the truth rather than this BS story I'm sure her friends, family & coworkers are putting out there! I've live that nightmare of a day for almost 2 years now and you never forget seeing something that horrific! It has changed me FOREVER....

He was just a biker. She is a Boyd graduate. Outta the way! Good to see the Boydsters drive like they practice law.

  14. Marissa Border sucks!

  15. A lot of people spoke out about Marisa Borders did. What she did was horrible. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  16. Has this thread really been rezed to let the world know there hasn't been enough Borderbashing on here? Pretty sure 10% of last year's total topics were on that issue..

  17. Yes and was not even resurrected in the same thread where the comment which was allegedly objectionable is located. With that said, the family should say its piece of peace and then the matter be done. Anything beyond that, the family and friends of the biker are welcome to share their thoughts on their own blog.

    1. Yes, spoken like two assholes, 9:27 and 9:58. Ms. Tanner lost a family member, some respect should be shown.

  18. Thank you 10:36 am!!! As I said before so many of these obvious Marisa Borders supporters are the first to point out she's been criticized enough... my thoughts are "No she hasn't" if critisium is the only side effect that she ends up with she's lucky! Don't forget SHE brought in this criticisum herself & no I don't think it I should ever stop talking about and because of her actions he will never come back! So you saying her life should just return to normal while everyone sweeps the subject under the rug? My answer to you people is "screw off!!!" And No I don't have to stop! It was her herself that she entered into my life, We didn't not ask her to enter our world.... That biker, my bother in law will never stop talking about it!
I leave you with this! You big talkers that hide behind an anonymous name, I DARE you to get out from behind your computer and stand in front of me to tell me to my face to let it go! I assure You this you will wish Marisa would have plowed you down at 91 miles an hour! When I'm down with you! Get a grip, have some freaking respect.... Keena Tanner
